Lately, I’ve been needing to remind myself that some of the turns and twists that I am faced with in life, are not just to fault me, or disrupt my feeling of balance. But these twists and turns are an invitation to discover something else about myself…
How do you make sense of unexpected disruptions in your life?

Nature is a messenger of the Spiritual World and a place where each of us can connect with the Divine, who I call LOVE. I also believe deeply that the Divine lives in each of us: and each of us can transform the world and people with the light and LOVE that dwells inside us. I share spiritual writings with you, with the hope that the words and images awaken something sacred in you. I believe each of us can offer blessing, so my writings are my blessings to you.
My days are spent with my three children, my husband and my cat. I was a Hospital Chaplain for many years before staying home with my kids. I have a Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry and Spirituality.
Blessings to you today and always.

Lovely wonderful post Erin … both the image and your message. It’s one I return to over and over again… giving myself that ‘permission’ ~ thank you for this heartfelt reminder xo RL
Yes, I agree with you, Robyn…I have to return to finding strength inside myself to take another step forward, over and over. Life certainly seems to have created us this way—that we have to discover courage over and over…it’s not just permanently there for us in every situation. Blessings, Erin
What a wonderful pictue and message. Life is a journey with unexpected detours and we should always take them – you never know where they may lead 🙂
Yes, the detours in life can take us on adventures, some I don’t always want to be on, others open doors to an even more wonderful life than I would have guessed. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings on your journey, Erin, Bella Bleue
Dear Erin, beautiful wisdom that opened my eyes to embrace more fully the twists and turns of life. Lovely artistry. Hugs, Sharon
Thank you, Sharon. I am working on embracing the twists and turns in my life more so that I can continue to be healthy in my life. Your words are encouraging and supportive. Blessings, Erin
Thanks Bella…I would add too that they are in fact CAUSED by us. If we understand the cause, then we can shape the outcome.
Hi Jonathan, I agree with you that there are times when we have choices about what happens to us in life. And at times we may not reflect on the consequences before we act or think. And if we had reflected first we may have had better results. Thus, learning is important.
Other times, though it seems like life befalls us with unexpected challenges, such as physical or mental illness, death, etc–that are not “caused” by us. When our lives are unexpectedly disturbed it is often challenging to always find our inner strength to go forward, so it needs to be a conscious action of giving ourselves permission to keep on living even with this disruption. And to realize that we can learn even more about who we truly are when we find the strength to go forward. We may discover something about ourselves that we never would have known without the unexpected disruption to our lives.
Thanks for reaching out today. I’m excited to meet a fellow traveler on the healing journey. I love the imagery of small steps down a long path…so fitting for the transitions of my life right now. I would often like to zoom out and see the “big picture” map of where my journey will be taking me, say, for the next five years. But that isn’t how life works. Each small step reveals a little more of the journey. Thank you for reminding me to give myself the permission to take the next small step.
Wonderful to share in this healing journey with you as well, CJ. Yes, the small steps…I remind myself about them too…often my reminders are a good inspiration for my messages—keeps me on my toes. It sure would be nice if we could see the Big picture of our lives,…I know I’d love to have some answers to questions I don’t want to wait for, but I guess life just wasn’t made that way, as you say 🙂 Blessings on your evening, Erin
I love this photo, and beautiful thoughts, Erin. Thank you for the reminder not to fear the journey, or any little step along the way. Does strength come and build as we progress, or is it always within us when we most need it, do you think? ~ Lily
Hello dear Lily, I believe we all have inner strength within us…each time we have survived we have because of a longing to live, which is strength to me. I also believe that we become stronger as we go forward…and by going forward I mean we choose to live and not give up…and although we may not recognize the strength we have in ourselves as we go through the challenge we are facing, when the time is right we can begin to learn more about ourselves, and by learning more about ourselves we hopefully lean to love ourselves deeper, which also allows that inner strength to be stronger. I guess I need to write about this in a post!
You have an amazing inner strength in you, Lily. I see it so very clearly in your writing about your journey.
